What Causes Pricking Sensation After A Rectocele Prolapse Surgery?

Still have a poking sensation six months after my prolapse surgery. Two dr s have told me that I am feeling the sutures, and that I might be uncomfortable for at least a year. If I am on my feet too much during the day, I will be swollen and feel quite a burning sensation. Is this normal after a rectocele prolapse surgery?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest you to consult your surgeon for clinical assessment of the surgical site. Sutures feel like a prick but burning sensation is unlikely. Infection of the surgical site needs to be ruled out by clinical assessment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
