What Causes Pricking Sensation All Over Body And Numbness On Fingers?

I have pins and needles all over my body, most of the time. Sometimes my fingers go numb. I have constant pain in both legs, hips and bottom. sometimes i ll get a searing pain or a throbbing in either leg .If I sit down, i hobble when I get back up.I have had sciatica on my right side, a while ago and I also had Graves disease. I don t take medication for that anymore because it gradually went away. I ve been tested twice for carpal tunnel.

Hi,

All causes of neuropathy or peripheral neuropathy should be ruled out. Diabetes, sciatica, nutritional deficiencies such as vitamin B12 deficiencies, autoimmune disease, certain medication side effects should be ruled out.

Treatment is based on the cause.Hot compress and vitamin B12 injection can reduce the symptoms. Stretching exercises can be done for sciatica which can reduce the sciatica discomfort.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
