Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your girlfriend's problem can be most likely due to alcoholic gastritis. For such condition I would recommend taking proton pump inhibitors like esomeprazole for 1 week. This is available in over the counter in brands like Nexium. This should be taken 1 hour before break fast daily. If the pain is severe or no improvement then approach your GP.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
