What Causes Productive Cough Along With Vomiting In A Sleep Apnea Patient?

My husband has a productive cough after he lays down at night. Approx 1-2 hours after going to sleep he gets up coughing to the point he is vomiting 1-3 times every night. He does snore VERY loudly and was Dx with sleep apnea. He refuses tmt for this. This began 2 months ago. Sputum is not yellow or bloody.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear welcome to HealthcareMagic
Regarding your husband symptoms of productive cough vomiting followed by a diagnosed sleep apnea I am suggesting that he is gradually developing aspiration pneumonitis due to regurgitation of food substance into the lungs
In view of this please see a pulmonologist for expert clinical assessment Councelling and adequate medical management
Perhaps he will need the continuous positive airway pressure for the sleep apnea
I hope this helps
