What Causes Productive Cough With Redness In Eyes?

My voice just recently went horse on a Thursday and by Saturday I could barely talk. I talk some mucinix generic a few times between Saturday and Tuesday morning. Though I m slowly getting my voice back and I m able to discharge mucus through coughing, I notice mucus also coming out of my eyes especially the left and then later on started turning red. Now my eyes are red with still a little light greenish/grayish mucus. Is this a sign of an eye infection or is it just something from the mucus medicine that is passing through my immune system?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a part of respiratory tract infection. As a first line management antibiotic eye drops can be tried. If symptoms persist better to consult an ophthalmologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
