What Causes Profuse Nose Bleeding While On Coumadin And Plavix?
I am soon to be 60 y/o.My wife and I take blood thinners. She s on Coumadin,I am on Plavix. The other day,I got a nosebleed from hell. The bleeding stopped after 3 hrs.We kept packing it w/ gauze.I did go to URGENT CARE.It quit bleeding before the doc came into the room.HERE S MY QUESTION. IF THEY CAN MAKE BLOOD THINNERS TO HELP YOUR HEALTH,WHY CAN T THEY MAKE SOMETHING TO STOP BLEEDING?Is quick clot any good, not just for nose bleeds but anything that make you bleed profusely. Is there another brand that works well?I need to know something.Don t say direct pressure. That s not going to help in a very serious cut. PLEASE HELP??!!!!
Yes, it may be caused by certain psychosomatic issues and in this case this is not dangerous and there is no need to be concerned.
However, some organic issues should be ruled out such as hypertension, nose polyps, sinusitiis- SO she should se ENT doctor for further evaluation. Also deviated deptum may be present in some cases and it should be properly treated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein
