What Causes Profuse Sweating, Nausea, Sore Throat And Ear Pain?

Sensation of a sharp pain in ear, profuse sweating x 4 days saturating clothing every 3 hours, cold and hot at same time, had fever on saturday and lower back spasms (fibromyalgia flare suspected and a virus took hold) and very sore throat. The fever broke sunday. Today, Tuesday thought I felt better and went out but...still sweating, nauseated, slight sore throat (scratchy to swallow) headache, ear pain & pressure. Not much appetite. Can t sit up. Using infrared heating pad on lower back. Also diabetic but diet controlled, no med yet. This despite I take daily many med for pain/tramadol and muscle relaxers so when I feel pain these med take care of it well. Thinking I ll go into a walk-in doc in the morning.

Infectious Diseases Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Based on your history I think this could be just a viral situation (flu). Using of Tramadol and muscle relaxers could cause prolonged sweating.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Monika Dede, Infectious Diseases Specialist
