What Causes Prolonged Bleeding During Periods?

I am a 52 y/o female. My last period has lasted two weeks. During the first 4 days it was heavy and slowly decreased towards the following 4 days. At the 8th day, I thought it was gone, but I started some spotting and have been spotting for the last week. Is this a sign of menopause? Or a more serious problem?

Hello
At this age ( closing towards menopause ) , this is very common , may be due to these reasons, these include:
1 Menopause .
2 Uterine fibroid
3 Hormonal imbalance
4 Tension or anxiety.
This is not a cause of concern because at this age this is common.
So at this time need not to worry and don't go for any test .
If recurs ( 3-4 times ) then consult your gynaecologist and get his opinion.
At this age sometimes heavy bleeding occurs and then stopped for 3-4 months .
This is common during menopause ,so don't take any tension.
Good luck.
