What Causes Prolonged Bleeding Even After Taking Primolut?
am 24, height is 178cm. My problem is that i had an abortion by inserting 6 cytotec. i bleed for 3 week or more, visited my doctor every week since bleeding start. Since am still bleeding doctor gave my a week supply of primocut n, am on my second to last day of pills an am still seeing blood. what could be wrong. By the way i havn't had sex since.

If the medical abortion was induced by the doctor and was supervised during the process, a trans-vaginal sonogram should be done now to exclude retained products of conception as cause for this prolonged bleeding. If negative, this prolonged bleeding could be due to hormone disturbances which may have crept in after the abortion has occurred. If you are still bleeding even after completion of the course, infection being ruled out, the dosage may be stepped up along with styptics. Hope this helps.
