What Causes Prolonged Bleeding Inspite Of Taking Ipill After Having Safe Sex?

Hello, I am 22 years old girl. On 10th September i got my periods and on 21st September i had protected sex and just to avoid risk I took ipill. And after 9 days the bleeding started. It s been 3 days that I m still bleeding. I m really worried. And it is mild bleeding. Please let me know is there any chance of being pregnant ?

Thanks for posting in HCM.
i pill is emergency contraceptive pill, which needs to he taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. It prevents pregnancy by causing breakthrough bleeding, which should happen within 3 weeks from the day of taking the pill.
In your case, it has happened so. Hence, you need not be worried about being pregnant.
Bleeding should however happen like your periods for 3 to 5 days and stop. It may continue for a couple of days more.
In case the bleeding continues beyond 10 days, you need to seek medical attention immediately.
