Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the symptoms of long standing cough and cold with phlegm can be due to chronic upper respiratory tract infection, bronchitis, long infection, allergies..
Acid reflux can cause sore throat and cough but there are also other associated symptoms like heartburn, chest discomfort, foul taste etc..
I would suggest you to consult a Pulmonologist and get evaluated..
He can advise you investigations like throat swab culture, sputum culture, chest x ray, Immunoglobulin G levels, complete blood picture etc to rule out the exact cause of the symptoms and treat you accordingly..
You can be advised Antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller, anti allergics, Steroid inhalers, cough expectorant containing Guaifenesin and cough suppressant containing Dextromethorphan, warm saline gargles and steam inhalation..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
