General & Family Physician 's  Response
I understand your concern. It looks like you have viral pharyngitis/ Upper respiratory tract infection. prolonged coughing can strain the muscle of the throat and you can feel the pain below the tongue or around the oral cavity. the symptoms are usually self limiting and antibiotics don't work on viral infections. you could try certain options for symptomatic relief of cough and ticklyness.

1) throat lozenges ( vicks, strepsils etc)
2) non narcotic cough suppressants like tab Benz (benzonatate 100mg Thrice daily)
3) eat warm foods and avoid cold and icy drinks
