What Causes Prolonged Menstrual Bleeding And Anemia?

I am a 52 year old woman, 5 7 / 107 lbs...have had periods recently lasting up to 12 days. I am anemic so this has affected my iron levels. Doctor prescibed Megestrol which I took 40mg x 2 daily for 10 days. It did stop my period at that time. Last pill taken 3 days ago, now period has started again.

That may be due to you are about menopause time so that might be causing it.due to this blood loss anemia occurs which also corrected by iron preparation with citrus fruits which increase iron absorption capacity.
