Understand your concern
Duphaston generally should be given to stop bleeding in
dysfunctional uterine bleeding. You have to consult the gynecologist for further management for menorrhagia
Following are the causes should be rule out :
DUB, Endometrial dyspalsia and cancer,
cervical dysplasia, and poly.
Go for
endometrial biopsy, USG and PAP smear to exclude the above causes.
Gynecologist will give following advice for menorrhagia:
Trenexemic acid and /or Vitamin K injection to reduce the bleeding.
IRON supplements to compensate the blood loss.
For long term management to regularize the period:
Oral contraceptive pill should be given, hormonal progesterone preparation in second half of cycle to correct hormonal imbalance.
Povera shot can be give for next management.
Intrauterine device like mirena can be given as it contain progestin and stop the bleeding for long time.
