What Causes Prolonged Menstrual Cycle?

Hi had natural miscarriage end of April 2015. Had first period June 3rd. TTC so did OPK. said I was at my peak 22nd June. At this point I had some spotting for 6 days. Since this have had no period. Did preg test came back neg on 11 July. Is this normal to have such a long cycle?. If OPK said I was at peak fertility, then wouldn t I have had my period by now?. What could the spotting have been?. Could I maybe be pregnant even if I had a neg pregnancy test?. My hormone levels after miscarriage went back to normal after 2 weeks. Hope you can enlighten me! Thanks

Hi,

After miscarraige, periods may get delayed /irregular due to hormonal imbalance caused by pregnancy & abortion. The spotting for 6days might be sort of irregular period , postponing the routine hormonal cycle.

OPK can predict raised LH surge but it does not confirm ovulation(whle ovulation depends on hormonal cycle normalitybringing about mature follicles).

Pregnancy is excluded with -ve home pregnancy test. You should wait for few months or get treated for getting the cycles normal before you plan for a baby.
