What Causes Prolonged Morning Sickness And Low Appetite In 14th Week Of Pregnancy?
Hello, I am 14 months pregnant, I still have morning sickness, and the only food that really settles in my stomach is pretzels. Today when I woke up I was starving but I could only eat less than a handful before I started to feel nauseous. I also drank a half glass of milk because when I drink water in the morning, that usually comes back up too. After about a half an hour after eating what little food I did, I ended up throwing up stomach acid with pea-sized soft white chunks, and one very large chunk, about the size of a strawberry. This has never happened before. What caused this and what can I do to prevent it from happening again?
Morning sickness can be treated with drugs like doxylamine and pyridoxine which can reduce the discomfort. These drugs are safe to be taken in pregnancy. These symptoms will reduce in the next weeks. Other causes of vomiting like gastritis, gastro-esophageal reflux or any other abdominal causes should be ruled out. Abdominal ultrasound may be required if vomiting increases inspite of using drugs.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
