What Causes Prolonged Numbness In Face Post Numbing Shot For Dental Work?

HI I just had dental work done 3 weeks ago, when I got the numbing shot in the roof of my mouth the side of my face went numb, my eye started to twitch and my sinus felt like it was plugged. I still have some numbness in my face, but my tooth doesn't hurt.

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

Normally numbness usually disappears in 2-3 hours after having dental treatment due to absorption & metabolism of local anesthetic. Numbness persisting even after 3 weeks is abnormal.
Persistent numbness could be due to injury of nerve due to injection or due to some surgical dental treatment. In case of slight injury to nerve the numbness will decrease with time.

You should also consult your dental surgeon, he would diagnos the extent of numbness & treat accordingly.

Refer to a oral physician/dentist
Hope this information helps
