What Causes Prolonged Periods Along With Mucous Filled Vaginal Bleeding While On Dronis?

Hi, I was detected anaemic 8 months back. Drs did all the tests n found its bcoz of menuresia. For that I was suggested to take novelon tabs for 6 months.after 4 months of taking the pills I started staining my panty n while urinating some blood was passing .so the Dr asked for a ultrasound.after that she did a DNS and the blockage was cleared.she told that it was due to a bad conceive . and she says all the symptoms show that I have adinomysis.she has prescribed dronis 20 for 4 months.after taking the pill from the 1 St day of my period I am again bleeding some mucous type blood while urinating n again staining my inner even if its more than 8_ 9 days. I just want to know is the diagnosis and medicines correct.or is there anything wrong happening.pls help me as am very tense. I get hell cramps in the lower abdomen. Before my period the cramps n other pains affects a lot . the hell pain happens while going to toilet during my period. Pls help.

Hello,

The adenomyosis is extension of endometrial glands growth into the myometrium of the uterus. The D and C procedure is being carried out to control for acute hemorrhage as well as the follow up medications in form of hormone therapy as Dronis is best therapy. If there is ongoing bleeding and pain with the current medications, additional inputs for the therapy will help great such as:
- Hemostatic agents as Tranexemic acid or Ethamsylate
- Anti-spasmodic medicines such as Drotaverine or Dicyclomine
- Avoidance of heavy weight lifting or strainful activities during menses

Remaining in regular follow up with your OBGYN will give you best results. At last, if the medical therapy is not responsive and the family is complete, one may get advised for the removal of uterus in form of laparoscopic or robotic hysterectomy.
