What Causes Prolonged Periods And Pain In The Lower Abdomen During Sex After The Implant Of IUD?

2yeaes ago I got the mirena iud. The first year I had a period every 3 or 4 months after the first year I got my periods every month. I would have a 7 day period then spot for a good 2 weeks. Sex has become painful in my lower abdomen. I have an appt on the 28th of this month to have the mirena removed. My question is today I've had really bad stomach pain and I've been throwing up and the stomach pain isn't going away. Do you think it has to do with the iud

Yes, it can be. There can be inflammation or infection. Have an examination, USG and other investigations done because there can be many causes.
