What Causes Prolonged Shortness Of Breath And Burning Penis Post Unprotected Intercourse?

About 9 months ago, I only had vaginal unprotected sex with a female partner. My symptoms now are, light headedness, shortness in breath from my upper chest area, my legs feel weak, and my penis is slightly burning on the inside of it. I saw a doctor ago weeks in advance, after my involvement with the girl, however, 9 months later, I still feel these symptoms, any help doc, please. I am 25 years old, and never had sex before, it was my first time, I m a guy.

Hello,

You are suffering from burning pain post unprotected intercourse. It can be due to injury to the penis, friction from sex may irritate a cut or scrape, and cause burning on the skin’s surface. Bruises and internal injuries could hurt after sex. Always use water based lubricants during sex.

Sometimes, yeast infection may also affect males, it causes itching and burning feeling on the penis. Antifungal medication (Clotrimazole / Miconazole) usually helps resolve this infection. Get urinalysis (R/E and C/S) done to detect UTI, E.coli infection. You will be treated accordingly. Medical conditions like prostatitis also cause burning during or after sex, or burning when they ejaculate or urinate.

Chronic prostatitis also causes painful/ burning pain or may find it difficult to urinate, may experience erectile dysfunction. Get clinically examined by a urologist, get all required tests and investigations done. It will be treated with antibiotics. Your treating doctor will want you to get STD tests done. Get it done to get treated accordingly. Avoid multiple partners. Always go for protected sex.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
