What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding After Having Intercourse?

hi, so I had sex for the first time ever 3 days ago and since then I been bleeding. I bled when it happened and basically over the past 3 days it has varied from spotting, actual blood, and blood clots. I m just concerned because I don t know if it is normal to still be bleeding after 3 days

Understand your concern
Prolonged vaginal bleeding after sexual intercourse is not common.
I found following possibility in this type of case in my practice:
1. Rough sex: It cause injury to superficial venous plexus of vagina and cervix. To prevent that use lubricant and condoms during sex and engage more in foreplay before intercourse. Care should be taken while fingering. Should be diagnose by vaginal examination. Take sitz bath of warm water with added providine iodine that help in faster healing.
2. Vaginal infection like : bacterial vaginosis, chlymadia also can cause bleeding. Should be diagnosed by swab test, urine test and CBC.
Should be treated by metronidazole or azithromycin with proper pelvic hygiene.
3. Cervical dysplasia, cancer and poly : also cause bleeding and should be diagnosed by PAP smear.

So consult the gynecologist and get the proper examination and investigation to diagnose above causes
