What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding And Spotting?

Hi, I had a bleeding which took me to see my gyn. He did an US in december 2016, which showed heterogenously 12mm endometrium. Then I had another US in April 2017, which showed an endometrial lining og 17.87mm. I had some spotting and prolonged bleeding as well as spotting. The doctor did endometrial biopsy with pipelle and the result came back as benign endometrial polyp. I later had an hysterosonogam which showed 13mm polyp. I will be having the polyp removed a month from now. Is there still a possibility for this polyp to be cancerous? Thank you

Hi I think there is a chance of cancer because biopsy can't tell you regarding all areas of polyp. Core and pedicle of polyp can contain cancer. But it needs to be removed and sent for histopathology to confirm this. So, you can go for a polypectomy and wait for the report. Hope it helps.
