What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding In The Middle Of The Menstrual Cycle?
Hi, I recently had my period, finished around the 26th june, it was completely normal. it again started on the 6th july and is still going. When it came again i was on my pill as i always am (levlen ed). normally when i get my period it starts slow and light and gets heavier until it slows again. this second one is different, it has been a constant medium from the 6th and came without any warning. I am just wondering what could be going on. I have a 8 month old daughter also and have always been on the pill except while trying for her. regards, Bethany
Because you are having unusual bleeding, I would recommend you to have a urinary pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy first.
If the urinary pregnancy test is negative and the bleeding is not more than the usual menstrual bleeding you can keep an eye on it and if it does not stop in a week you will need to see your doctor.
If the bleeding is heavier than the usual menstruation then you will need to see the doctor soon.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
