What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding Post Abortion?

Hi. I had an abortion march 31 2015. I ve been bleeding every since. It started off normal then light then spots thru out the months.back n forth. Now June 6 2015 I came on like a normal month but it is flowing like crazy about 60-80 ml. When I go to the bathroom it pours out like pee. i have to change my pads like every hour and I have blood clots some small some quarter size. Now my question is, is this happening because of the abortion or could this be something more serious? Please help me I getting scare.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

ABORTION effects do not last over a period of 9 months as in your case. There can be possible issue of:
- Hormone imbalance
- Endometrial hyperplasia
- Uterine fibroids
- Ovarian tumors
- Others

However, once the clinical examination is carried out, I recommend supportive evaluation of an ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis for the final diagnosis and cure accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
