What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Discharge In A Sexually Active Person?

I am 54 years old, female. Single for five years, no sexual activity x five years. Last six months been in a relationship and two weeks ago our relatiinship became sexual. Ever since I have been having vaginal discharges for as long as two to three days afterward. There is no color, no odor, no pain, occasional fresh blood when freshening up. The discharge is not normal for me as at 54 and single for so long, thought I had dried up so to speak. Not sure if I need to worry about this discharge or not. Please advise.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

First of all having vaginal discharge does not denote any problem, Unless the discharge is having awful or fishy odour & is accompanied by vaginal itching or irritation.
Normal colour of vaginal discharge is colourless to whitish in colour. Slight odour is also normal. It helps in natural cleaning of vagina, keeps bacteria away & helps in natural lubrication of vagina during sexual activity. So your vaginal discharge should be normal.
The thing to notice is that vaginal discharge increases when a female becomes sexually active. This might be the reason of high discharge now as you have become sexually active.
