What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Spotting?

I started spotting on the 21st it was brownish in color and it lasted 2 days then I started heavy bleeding for about 2 days and I ve been spotting ever since then. Ive been bleeding for 13 days now. I took a pregnancy test about a week ago and it was negative. I Had a miscarriage in January. I m 23 years old

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Prolonged bleeding that you are suffering is due to abnormal uterine bleeding.
The cause for the abnormal uterine bleeding needs to be found out.
For finding the cause of bleeding, some investigations will be required.
An ultrasound of the pelvic region along with an endometrial biopsy will be required.
There are various causes of abnormal uterine bleeding like uterine fibroid, hormonal imbalance, etc.
The above mentioned investigations will determine the probable cause of prolonged bleeding.
Thus, consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment, investigations and thus treatment.
A previous history of miscarriage can lead to continuous bleeding due to retention of products of gestation, however, in that case bleeding follows the miscarriage without any gap.
