What Causes Prominent Blue Veins On Breast, back Pain And Frequent Urination?

Hello Dr.I am about 10 days late on my menses (was due around 5/17, I have a fairly regular cycle between 28-32 days. On Day 28 , about a week past ovulation, I experienced some light spotting. I have been charting my OV and did ovulate, also prior to that I was on 100mg of Clomid, my husband and I have carefully timed intercourse at my fertile windows each month. I have also been experiencing the following the past 3 weeks: tender breasts, more prominent blue veins to my breast, slight cramps off and on, lower back pain, frequent urination, decreased appetite, BBT implementation dip than an increase, no nausea.I am 40 years old, and I have never missed a period. My home urine test at 2 days late was negative, my blood test at 7 days late (3 days ago) showed only an HCG of 2 IU/ml / negative.I am not overly stressed, so I am wondering if I may be experiencing an early symptom of pre-menopause...or perhaps too early to detect the HCG in my body? Confused if I should I test again or am I wasting my breath, would the HCG blood test be pretty accurate at this point?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The symptoms and signs which you have mentioned about do not indicate pre-menopause. Also, the HCG and urine tests have been done too early to detect pregnancy. I would suggest that you carry out pregnancy tests 1 week after missing your periods. Do not worry about anything and keep trying.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
