What Causes Prominent Growth On The Tip Of Nose?

One side of the tip of my nose has grown a firm growth. It is most noticeable looking up from below my nostrils. It feels like extra cartilage. I first noticed the bulbous lump 1-2 years ago but for the past 10-14 days, the underside tip of my nose is also red. It Doesn t hurt but feels strange. Is it likely it is growing? And if I see a doctor, what type of doc do I see? I sometimes take fllonase or nasacort. My only allergy is dust mites.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that the mass may be related to allergies because continuous rubbing or irritation of the nose can cause swelling to occur.

You should see an ENT doctor for assessment. In addition to the use of the nasal sprays and oral anti histamines, you may need other medications.

Surgical removal may also be an option.

I hope this helps
