What Causes Prominent Veins In Hands Post Exercise?

Veins pop out, more often after exercise especially in colder weather. Happens in both arms, lower rist and hands. More severe On my right side. Swells when arms are lowered and disappears when arms are raised. Been happening for a couple of years on and off.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear welcome to hcm.

It is perfectly normal observation. When you do exercises, blood flow increases in hands and your veins get dilated. Right sided veins are bigger than left, all depends on efforts put by the hand. Generally we give more pressure to right hand than left. On elevation of arm, veins disappear, because veins get emptied due to gravity effect. This observation is more prominent in winters because to keep body warm, more blood is pumped in peripheries. So more dilatation of veins in winters.

Don't worry, absolutely normal observation. Always be aware of your body and it's wellbeing. Please write to HCM or me for follow up queries. Hit a thanks. Thank you
