What Causes Protein In Urine During Medication For Nephrotic Syndrome?

my son has nephrotic syndrome since 3 years.he is responding to steroids.but recently when ever he is having cold or any other infection protein loss is there in urine even while using steroids.it is again coming down after the infection subsided.is this also comes under relapse? is he responding to steroids?please let me know.
