Hello,

The accumulation of the fluids in your lungs is very likely due to pleuritis, which is water in between the layers that cover the lungs.

Pleuritis is a possible complication of tuberculosis and this is very likely the cause of the excess liquids that the doctor had to remove.

You will need to be treated promptly and strictly follow the instructions of your doctor as tuberculosis is contagious.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician.
