What Causes Pulsating And Throbbing Sensation In The Throat?

Pulsating/throbbing sensation in my throat for about a month...sometimes steady, not painful, but disconcerting. If anything it has become more regular of late. All tests show negative: chest x-ray, ekg, stress test, endoscopy. I do have sleep apnea, wear a mask, am in good physical shape, workout daily, and do not smoke or drink. I've had some stressful times of late. Your thoughts? Thank you.

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Sudden onset pulsatile sensation in throat which is persistent and all tests came negative can occur due to some somatic complaints or due to some anxiety. Anxiety can result in abnormal weird sensations or pulsatile sensations in throat. Your all tests came negative so this also strengthens our diagnosis. I would advise you to please visit a psychiatrist for expert opinion and evaluation. Medicines like SSRIs as Escitalopram, Sertraline etc can help to reduce these pulsatile like sensations. Some times SOS basis use of benzodiazepines as Alprazolam, Clonazepam also helps in reduction of symptoms. Please visit a psychiatrist for proper help and prescription of these drugs.
