What Causes Pulsating Feel In Neck And Twitches In Body Muscles?

For a week I have had a pulsating throbbing that comes and goes in the left front side of my neck. It is like when you get muscle twitches in large muscles in your body..but this isjust directed over where the carotid artery is. I am 63, take high BP meds which make my pressure normal. I am worried in case it is a carotid artery ready to burst.
