What Causes Pulsating Pain Around The Bump On The Head?

When 16 i bumped my head on a bookshelf corner. It was really painful and I had to lie down for a bit to avoid faniting at the time. I'm 34 now and only recently I noticed a bump on my head, slighty above eye level and in line with teh tip of my ear. It seems to be a hard bony bump and i might have never realised i had it. Recenly I've have been getting localised head pains almost everyday. They last up to 10 sec and seem to be either aound the bump area or the sam side of head but back part.. The type of pain is a pulsing one. Can you help?
