General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

After reviewing your information, it is my understanding that you are experiencing a repetitive beating noise in your right ear. This is called as pulsatile tinnitus. It could be attributed to a thin bony cortex of sigmoid plate. The sigmoid sinus is situated beneath the sigmoid plate and its venous sound may be augmented due to the thin plate which is called cortical plate dehiscence.

Since its only 5 months in duration I would like to know whether you had any history of recent ear infection or trauma. This is not a vital problem but it can be distressing to the patient in which case treatment may be required. The treatment options depends on the particular cause and it can be medical or surgical exploration for which you need to consult back with your ENT surgeon.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Tejas, General & Family Physician
