What Causes Pulsating Sensation In The Neck While On Amitryptyline?

38 year old male taking amitryptyline for 3 years for GI motility. 6 2 208#. Thin other than belly fat. Question: Feeling pulse strongly in my neck and head when lying down. No headache. Enough to keep me awake though. Experiencing shortness of air when lying down at times. Do you think he recent belly fat gain could be causing any of this?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is not related to Amitriptyline.

If symptoms are severe better to consult a physician and plan for an ultrasound.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
