Hi..
Can understand your concern..
As per your complain a painful purple bump in the roof of the mouth along with redness and irritation can be due to an
allergic reaction causing inflammation and formation of a painful bump..
The allergic reaction can be due to any food product or any medication if you are taking..
It can also be due to injury to a minor
salivary gland or its ducts leading to spillage of its contents in the soft tissues leading to spillage of its contents into the soft tissues leading to formation of a bump known as Mucocele and in case it gets irritated due to trauma while swallowing or due to any hot food there can be irritation and pan..
I would suggest you to consult an oral pathologist and get evaluated and in case of allergic reaction antihistamines like allegra and
benadryl can be helpful..
Gargle with 1:1 solution of
milk of magnesia and benadryl can be relieving..
In case of pain and redness taking
Ibuprofen can reduce pain and inflammation..
In case of Mucocele concentrated salt water rinses can help..
Mostly it resolve by itself but in case of persistance surgical removal is indicated..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards..
