My husband s upper eyelid is suddenly purple, as if he d been hit. He s suffered no trauma and didn t know until a woman at the gas station commented on it. He says it s happened before, a couple of months ago. Can you tell me why this might be happening?
Hello It seems from the history that your husband is having purple color of the eyelids. This is because of hematoma as a result of collection of blood under the layers of skin of eyelid. Though the commonest cause is injury it can occur spontaneously also in case of diabetes or hypertension . Hence he requires evaluation to rule out these systemic causes. For purple color of eye lids he can apply cold compression and it will resolve no nerd to worry.
Thank you
