What Causes Purple Colored Bruise Around The Eyelashes?

I woke up with a purple eyeliner looking bruise I saw the Dr and she said you must have scratched it but I know I did no such a thing! There is no pain, just looks like I use. A purple eyeliner and drew it on the wrong side! What could be the cause of this?!

Hello,

Purple discolorations are due to local bleeding. This is most of the time due to trauma, and many times the patient does not remember the time they had the trauma.

I would recommend you just to keep an eye on it. If it is not healing in 7-10 days or if you notice new lesions in other areas of the body or if you tend to bleed (gums, heavy periods, nosebleeds, blood with urine or stools) then you will need to see your doctor and have tests done.
