What Causes Purple Discoloration Around An Insect Bite?

I was bitten on the foot by some type of insect two days ago during the night, so I m not sure what type it was. The bite itself is a single tiny wound, but the area around it has darkened to purple over the last couple of days and there is now purple tracking of the nearby veins, radiating about three inches around the bite. The top of the foot is swollen and feels bruised and painful to the touch, though I don t see any physical evidence of bruising or discoloration. I am in the UK. Thank you.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if it is the suspected case of insect bite then it need to be applied "Calamine lotion" and care needs to be taken for infection, else it is nothing to worry hope this information helps.
