Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have always had pale skin and my hands sometimes turn a purple-blueish color. I am concerned about this because my legs do this too. It mostly happens when I exercise or am in cold rooms. Should I go to the doctor or what is causing this? What can I do about this? Thanks!
I think you are suffering from Raynaud phenomenon the purple color and pain in hands, feet or ears when exposed to cold. It comes from improper blood supply to extremities. It is linked to autoimmune diseases or rheumatoid arthritis etc.
Don't expose to cold. Wear gloves and socks.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Syed Hashim Ali Shah, General & Family Physician
