What Causes Purple Flat Spot On Ear Canal In A Child?

My Baby has purple flat spot on his ear canal and surrounding that look like bruises or small flat blood spots . He has had mild fever with ibuprofen. We have had a stray kitten roaming in our backyard i caught him playing near him i wonder if its some kind of ear mites or skin infection other than measles it has not spread. but he is scratching at his ear quite a bit and scratches on his face near his ear, also looks like above ear head is swollen.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms seem to be related to an ear infection.
I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Tylenol for the pain.
I also suggest using an eardrop for local application.
If the symptoms continue, antibiotics may be needed.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
