What Causes Purple Sore On The Left Side Of Tongue?
Hi my name is Shari, I'm freaking out because I have a purple sore on the left side of my tongue.... Is that usually a bacteria infection? I looked online at pictures, & I was scared it was cancer, but the cancer pictures I saw we're white, I'm scared what do u think?
As per your complain and presentation of symptoms purple sore on the tongue can be caused common cause of a purple sore on tongue is a Hematoma formed due to injury to tongue caused by tongue bite or injury with some sharp food or object. It is definitely not cancer and you need not worry about cancer. If it is on the left side towards the margin on tongue it can also be a Mucocele. Both are self resolving conditions and you need not to worry about it..
In case if there is no improvement in 1 week then you can consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
