What Causes Purple Spot And Blurred Vision In Eye?

I had llike a purple spot,somewhat blurred for about 5 minutes in the right eye-only. Left eye vision was totally normal. Prior to the onset of symptoms, I had gone to the bathroom and got up quickly went into another room. The bright light in the other room might have triggered the vision problem. It has resolved completely within 20 minutes from onset of symptoms. What do think caused this? If it was a detached retina,the symptoms would not have resolved,correct?
