What Causes Purplish Blue Liquid On Cotton After Ear Cleaning?
cleaned left ear with q-tip liquid on cotton is purpleish blue
is this an ear infection, never have seen this before.
I am a 51 year old female, taking Simvastatin and Plavix, heart stent inserted last September. Weight 135, smoker.
I also take one heart aspirin and sertraline

Ear infection usually causes watery sticky greenish or yellowish discharge.In your case more possibility of trauma to ear canal skin and as you are on antiplatelet drugs (blood thinners) it is likely that it was blood.Keep your ear dry and if it is painful consultation with your doctor is advised.
