What Causes Purplish Red Bruise On Ankle Bone?

I have a purplish red bruise on my inside right ankle bone and can't walk on it or put weight on it without severe pain. When I press on the ankle there is a very sharp pain. I was jogging in place and jumping in place the previous day. Is this a sprain or a hairline fracture?
