What Causes Pus Filled Itchy Bumps On The Forearms?
Hello, My boyfriend has what looks to me like prickly heat on both forearms and on his right hand. They do ooze pus, itch terribly and are red. They scab over. Had the symptoms approximately 2 weeks. It is spreading, started around his wrists and worked its way up his forearms. He is very uncomfortable, Aloe directly from the plant seems to relieve it some but not enough. Thank you for your time Lisa
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pus-filled itchy bumps on the forearms which is a common skin condition in which hair follicles become inflamed which is usually caused by a bacterial or fungal infection leading to folliculitis.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to keep that area dry and wear loose clothes. You should apply a warm, moist washcloth or compress and apply soothing lotions. You should gently wash the infected skin twice a day with antibacterial soap. Take diet rich in fluids. Consult dermatologist for proper examination. The doctor may prescribe antibacterial or antifungal medicine along with immunosuppressants.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
