What Causes Pus In The Tonsils?

I have a pus pocket on my tonsil thats been there for a month....I got treated with penicillin for strep that and have been gurgling with salt water. I ve even been to the dentist and been prescribed mouth wash and that pus sack will not go away. I went back to the doctor and they tested me and if came back negative for an infection....they told me to continue gurgling with salt water and the pus is still there....should I just ask them to drain it?

Hello,

As there are no sign of infection, and you have no throat ache or fever, there is no need for drainage. I would also recommend trying an antiseptic spray, in order to seem if it helps. It is also necessary repeat the throat bacterial culture after a month.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
