What Causes Puss And Bloody Discharge Post Treatment For Fistula?

Hi
Age 57
Height 5ft 7in

Fistula in ano- had a loose non cutting seton in place for 10 weeks.still getting pus and bloody discharge. How long could this continue plus I am getting sore skin in between legs and buttocks, the skin is looking greyish.
Could the drainage affect testicles and penis which has for the past two days become sore and I get a stabbing pain every three to our minutes.

Hello

This is a kind of management of for Fistula in ano. The seton is placed to drain the internal content to outside. It may be left in place from 3 months to a year or two.The small amount of discharge may persist and this is told to every patient prior to the intervention.
But as there soreness with change in color of skin and also there is soreness of testicle and penis along with throbbing pain;these are suggestive of secondary infection.
Take an analgesic. Sitz bath also helps both in soreness and pain.
I would suggest you to consult your doctor for proper evaluation and management(like antibiotic, analgesic) accordingly.
Regards
