What Causes Radiating Pain From Shoulder To Chest With Numbness And Tingling Sensation In Fingers?

I am having constant sharp stabbing pain that starts just below my right shoulder blade and radiates around under my arm under my right breast. Any movement, breathing, coughing, etc causes so much pain that I feel like I might vomit! Definitely brings tears to my eyes. I had a chest x ray about 7 days ago that showed nothing, however, the pain has gotten much worse!!! My right arm feels numb and tingles down to my fingers!!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I'm sorry to hear you've been having such severe pain. It certainly sounds like nerve pain, and with the arm symptoms you may have a pinched nerve in your neck. If you were having any weakness in your right arm that would be concerning as well. I would recommend you let a doctor examine you to see if there are any signs of a nerve compression, and possibly start you on medications that would help with nerve pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Aaron Branch,
